As said by the title, this is now my comfort book. I love this book. A beginner to classics should definitely start with this one.

.
I love this book so much. I’ll tell my thoughts on
each individual character.
Meg – I think she’s my favorite sister (sorry, Jo!). At
first, I thought she was annoying. But she had real character development.
Before we go to the next sister, I’d like to talk about her relationship with
John Brooke (my favorite character).
As soon as Mr. Brooke came, I liked him very much. I
ship…Mrooke? Very much. I loved reading about their marriage struggles. I liked
how when they both fought, they both wanted to be the first to apologize. When
Meg was in the wrong, when she found out, immediately she tried to do good, and
that’s why I love her. And John does so much for Meg to feel happy even though
they’re poor.
Jo – I can relate with her temper and ambition; she has
her flaws (like me) but is a good person.
Beth – oh Beth…you know why she’s my second favorite
sister. I love her so much. I knew she would die while reading as I had watched
the 2019 movie a few years ago. I was so shocked at the time…love her.
Amy – my third favorite sister, yes, I know. I can
relate to her being annoying to her sister and she was annoying at first, but
in the second part, she was so good hearted and lovely…don’t judge me, though I
think I was biased because of Florence Pugh (love her).
Laurie – I kept imagining Laurie as Timothée Chalamet
even though he’s described as “dark skinned”. I think Laurie is a wonderful character,
definitely one of my favorites, with a lot of flaws.
[Jo basically asks where he wants to be when he grows
up].
“‘To live in Italy, and to enjoy myself in my own
way.’” – Laurie. Timothée Chalamet plays an Italian in Call me by your name (I
think, haven’t watched the movie, ok?)
Coincidence? I THINK NOT.
Now, let’s get into the ships/relationships.
Meg and John Brooke – favorite ship in the whole book.
Jo and Laurie – I don’t really ship them together; Jo
didn’t have feelings for him. But it was still heartbreaking to read (AND WATCH!).
Amy and Laurie –
it was kind of weird for Laurie to fall in love with Beth’s sister after falling
in love with her, but it’s okay…I just care that they’re happy and rich. I don’t
have much feelings for them.
Jo and Professor Bhauer – this ship is weirder than Amy
and Laurie. At least Laurie is lonely three or four years older than Amy. But
FIFTEEN! Fifteen…it’s the age difference that makes me feel weird. One of them
isn’t immortal, this ain’t Malec!
And now, for some out of context quotes that make me
think of the times where the word ‘gay’ was used for happiness.
"Beth played her gayest march"
"Isn’t that music gay?"
"‘To live in Italy, and to enjoy myself in my own
way.’" - Laurie
"[Meg] tried not to be envious or discontented,
but it was very natural that the young girl should long for pretty things, gay
friends, accomplishments, and a happy life."
"I can’t, I feel so queer!"
"she did her best to seem gay"
"Meg had told her adventures gayly"
"Plumfield is about as gay as a churchyard"
"It’s a very queer thing for her to do"
"-so it will be gay inside-"
"it was a comical sight to see her mince along in
her gay suit"
"'What can you expect when I have four gay girls in
the house, and a dashing young neighbor over the way?'"
"'I’ll do my best, for your sake,’ promised Beth,
wondering why Jo looked at her so queerly."
"Give us something gayer, lad"
"‘If that’s the way he’s going to grow up, I wish
he’s stay a boy,’ she thought, with a curious sense of disappointment and
discomfort, trying meantime to seem quite easy and gay."
"‘Why, little mother, how gay we are tonight.'"

As I said, this is now my comfort book. I read this book
by ebook. And when I read it again, I’ll buy the book and read it physically.
My rating? Without a doubt; 5 stars.
My Pride and prejudice book will be coming today, so
the review will be posted in a couple of days. Percy Jackson series review will
be coming next week, so buckle up!
